After exporting to eight countries and exhibiting overseas five times, Saehan Grain discusses partnerships with overseas Korean business leaders at the World Korean Business Convention Grain-based product development and manufacturing capabilities presented at the K-Initiative IR Stage

Saehan Grain (CEO Alvin Lee), a food manufacturer based in Gyeongnam, Korea, is broadening its global business beyond finished-product exports into product development and manufacturing partnerships with overseas partners. The company took part in the 24th World Korean Business Convention, held September 28–30 at Songdo Convensia in Incheon, where it discussed market entry strategies with overseas Korean business leaders and presented its grain-based food tech and its manufacturing and product development capabilities at the K-Initiative IR Stage.
The 24th World Korean Business Convention is a global business event that connects overseas Korean business leaders around the world with companies in Korea. This year, about 3,000 business people from Korea and abroad attended.
During the event, Saehan Grain showcased its grain-based snacks, including Ocho Ball, and discussed local distribution environments, consumer characteristics, sales channels, and market entry strategies with overseas Korean business leaders from the United States, Hong Kong, Canada, Japan, and other markets. Follow-up meetings are planned with buyers from the United States, Japan, and Hong Kong.
The convention is an extension of Saehan Grain’s ongoing efforts to develop overseas markets. The company had already taken part in five overseas exhibitions this year before the convention, and it currently exports its products to Japan, the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Taiwan, El Salvador, Chile, and other markets.
Alongside its product exhibit, Saehan Grain gave a presentation on “Food Tech (Grain Materials)” in the Deep Tech & Materials (core technology, materials, and bio) session of the K-Initiative IR Stage. Drawing on its know-how in grain processing and food manufacturing, the company introduced its ability to develop and produce products whose taste, nutrition, and format can be tailored to market needs.

Saehan Grain’s business is not limited to selling specific finished products. Building on its grain materials and manufacturing experience, the company can connect its own brands with B2B semi-finished product supply, OEM/ODM, and joint product development. If the exhibition booth was where the company showed its “products,” the IR stage was where it explained the “manufacturing and product development capabilities” that allow it to keep developing and producing them.
Overseas collaboration is also taking shape. Saehan Grain is currently working with a Malaysian food company on the joint development of products using grain materials, widening the possibilities for product development and manufacturing partnerships tailored to the needs of each market, beyond finished-product exports.
In Korea as well, Saehan Grain is developing products with a number of companies on an OEM/ODM basis, expanding the scope of collaboration through exclusive products and co-developed items tailored to the consumers and sales environment of each distribution channel.
“Rather than selling one product in the same way across many markets, what matters is becoming a manufacturer that can make products suited to the consumers and distribution environment of each market,” said Alvin Lee, CEO of Saehan Grain. “With the overseas partners we met at this convention, we will work to turn a range of possibilities into reality, not only in product exports but also in product development and manufacturing partnerships.”
Going forward, Saehan Grain plans to continue follow-up discussions with distribution partners in each country, building on the network it has secured through its existing export markets and overseas exhibitions, and to expand grain-based product development and manufacturing partnerships in Korea and abroad.
